Telnet is the protocol used. What command or commands does RME use to backup device configs?

The output from the device is captured into an accumulator buffer by the sync archive process, then written out to a temp file. That file is then moved into the archive location, and the database is updated.

Assuming an IOS router device:
terminal length 0
terminal width 0
show privilege
terminal no monitor
enable
show running-config brief
show running-config
show startup-config
Note: not all commands will be used on all versions of IOS or all router device types.

I don't understand how the output is captured from the show running and show startup commands then saved in a file(s) on the RME servers.
