Voice over IP using E1 Lines

Hello,

I am planning to shift normal FXS cards to E1 cards so that i could use E1 lines and their 30 channels using one cable other then using a whole lot of FXS cards each giving just two connection points. I am using 2801 and 3845 routers. Kindly suggest me some Network modules and E1 Cards that support voice and also some example configuration for it. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

what router do you have? Generally today the VWIC-xMFT-E1 and the VWIC2-xMFT-T1/E1 are used.

if u want to use all the channels on E1 , below is a sample config.

controller E1 2/0

framing NO-CRC4

pri-group timeslots 1-31

note: CRC-4 OR NO-CRC4 , same config must be on router and pbx.

interface Serial1/0:15

hope it helps u, other than this u hav to configure the pots dial-peer and some global config for voice.
