Mobile Wireless solution

Does anyone know if Cisco makes a device, which can get it's power from a car battery? In other words, my customer needs to mount some kind of non-root device in a mobile van. The customer needs to be able to drive around his office parking lot with his laptop connected back to his network, which is located back inside his office building. Thank you.

Not sure what you are lookign for but a 1231 AP will run if connected to a 12vdc supply. Have used this setup for doing surveys.

Hi,

The 3200 Mobile Access Router is specifically designed for these sort of mobile applications in hardened environments (temp, moisture, shock, vibration etc) The PSU will work with automotive 12-24V DC systems (as well as AC). Various radio cards at 2.4, 4.9 and soon 5Ghz are available which can be configured as root-bridge, non-root bridge, AP or client using the link role flexibility feature in IOS.

Serial and ethernet ports are available for host connectivity to the MAR.
