Are the requirements for CCSP changing?

Answered Question
Aug 7th, 2007

I went to a boot camp to get CCNA training (worth every dime - I missed one question on the ICND). Now I'm thinking of pursuing a CCSP through self-study. While reading book reviews, I saw a couple that said they are changing the exams around for CCSP. I don't want to spend money and time studying something I don't need; what, if anything is changing?

Also, is there a preferred order to take the CCSP exams, or can I skip around?

I have this problem too.

Yes. They HAVE changed!

Cisco is moving to a Core/Elective format for CCSP.

Core:

SND, SNRS, IPS, SNPA

Current Electives:

HIPS, CANAC, MARS, CSVPN

Check it out here at:

Hello Jason,

Well the prefered way is to first answer SND, you can then answer the SNRS/PIX/IPS/CSVPN exams in any order that you wish to.

I suppose I'll just take the "core" exams plus the CSVPN, then save the other "elective" exams for recertification later.

Thanks for the help, that was exactly what I was looking for.
