IDENTIFYING A SWITCH ROOT BRIDGE

Hi guys please help me. Which Cisco IOS command do you enter on a switch to enable you to see which switch is currently the root bridge when there are so many switches and spanning tree is enabled?

I have this problem too.

hi,

show spanning-tree detail / show spanning-tree summary can be used to know abt root bridge for that spantree valn instance.

"show spanning-tree root"

!!Display the STP Root information for all VLAN's configured on a switch.

Other commands for your referenece:

show spannning-tree summary totals

!!Display STP summary information for all VLANs configured on a switch

show spanning-tree detail

!!Display detailed STP information for all VLANs configured on a Switch

show spanning-tree vlan vlan-id bridge

!!Display STP bridge information for a specified VLAN
