VPN issue

Hey

I have a static vpn connection between to sites. Sometimes it seems that the connection goes down, just for som seconds, but it happens often.

I issued the command : sh crypto engine connections dropped-packet

an i got this output :

Packets dropped because of encapsulation/decapsulation failure:

Interface IP-Address Drop Count

FastEthernet0/0 x.x.x.x 1

Packets dropped because of abnormal event occurred:

Interface IP-Address Drop Count

FastEthernet0/0 x.x.x.x 7763

i checked the switch its connected to, and it doesent seem like the interface is flapping, ( i cant se any errors )

any suggestions how I proceed withe the troubleshooting ?

Hi,

use some kind of "internet continuity" test between the two sites, like a continuous ping, what'up, etc. If you see "holes" in times corresponding with the VPN problems, you know that is caused by packet loss in the internet.
