Email Proxy, Exchange and an iPhone

I'm trying to figure out how to get the email proxy to work without much success. I accept that I might not get it to work with the iPhone but I'm having trouble seeing much activity at all. Anyone have a guide for configuration, including recommended client settings? I've read through the Cisco doc and it's just not descriptive enough.

Sorry, should have said, this if on an ASA running 8.x.

Hi,

If you're refering to the SSL VPN e-mail proxy capabilities you can do it rather easily using ASDM 6.0. The e-mail proxy config is well explained in following doc:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa80/asdm60/user/guide/vpn_emai.html

That's the doc I was reading and sorry, but I don't think it's descriptive enough. For instance, how does the proxy work? What does the server need to be set up like? What does the client need to be set up like? That doc does a fine job of explaining the obvious nature of the checkboxes but it doesn't go beyond the simple ASA screens at all.

Hi,

What kind of information are you looking for? The client and server (e-mail)setup are basically the same whether or not the proxy is in between. The client should point to the proxy instead of the mail server.

Some more info on client support:
