Greetings
I had a really weird and worrying problem today. In preperation to reimage an IDSM2 module in a Catalyst 6500 with SUP720 and IOS 12.2(18)SXF3 I sent the "hw-module module 5 reset cf:1" command in a telnet session to the switch.
This caused the switch to drop from the network and when I was able to set up a serial connection to the switch I found the SUP720 had rebooted into ROMMON.
The SUP720 is in slot 7 and the IDS in slot 5. Neither buffer log or syslog show any indication of what happened and I'm positive I sent the correct command.
Any ideas?

Do a 'dir bootflash:' and see if this left a crashinfo file. If so, open a TAC case and let us decode it.

Hi
Thanks for the answer. Actually the Catalyst wrote a crashinfo. It confirms me sending reset module 5. I'll try to start a TAC right away. However the TAC seems to be broken at the moment.
