cisco 1700 clock problem

Unanswered Question
Aug 10th, 2007

i have 2 1700 series cisco routers which i use in my home lab

both of which work perfectly except for one small problem

i have to keep resetting the clock after i have turned them off

i sure this means the the battery that keeps the clock settings

has gone flat, the problem is that i am unsure where the battery

is situated on the motherboard, the only contender is a little

silver cylinder with the markings s4 220 25v which sits in a

plastic socket just behind the on/off switch along side a marking

on the board of C717 and a + sign but there is nothing else marked

to say that this is a battery.

what i need to know is

what i described above actually the battery

and where can i get them?

HI Melvyn Brown, [Pls Rate if HELPS]

For any Purchase of Cisco Products please contact your nearby "Cisco Certified Partner / Vendor" in you Country for assistance.

Donot BUY cisco products accessories in local Market which will lead into some severe Hardware Issue in Future.

Purchase only the Branded Cisco Products for the same.
