When you send RTP Voice packets, as well as data packets, across an IPSec VPN tunnel between two locations, should you enable QoS on the OUTBOUND traffic only, or both outbound and inbound? Using 2821 and 2811 routers with T1 connections to the internet. Thanks! Mitchell

You must configure QoS on the T1 interfaces, and "qos-preclassify" under "crypto map".
See example:

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Hi, I already have QoS configured on my serial T1's and I have the "qos-preclassify" statement in my crypto maps. The question is should QoS be applied ONLY to outbound traffic or to BOTH inbound and outbound traffic? My customer is using a NEC phone system that uses the PSTN to make normal calls BUT uses VoIP to make calls between their offices across the data network.
