Dears,

Does Sw 2950 support command:

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q.

i did not find this command.

Hi Friend,

2950 only supports dot1q which is a default encapsulation and that is the reason command to configure dot1q is not available.

Just issue this command

"swutchport mode trunk" and you are good to go.

Does it means that if there is other switches brand that only support EITF, 2950 wont be able to work with them?

That's correct.

If there is another switch out there that's configured to do ISL encapsulation then 2950 wouldn't be able to form a trunk with it. 802.1q is industry standard protocol whereas ISL is Cisco Proprietary and therefore you probably mightn't run into a scenario where ISL is supported but not 802.1q.
