VPN and Routing

Unanswered Question
Aug 12th, 2007

Hi,

I have a basic question about how IP works on an end host.

The scenario is that a given host has a web connection and a vpn connection through the web to a VPN server at the workplace.

My question is how does IP differentiate between a public web destination and the work place network at the source itself?

I hope my question is clear.

Thanks in advance,

JP

I have this problem too.

The host doesn't differentiate. The router or PIX does, as the configuration commands indicates what goes into VPN and what does not.

Hope this helps, please ratepost if it does!
