Cisco 3750G POE loss randomly

Hi,

I would like to enquire on what could possibly cause a ip phone(802.3af class 2 device) connected to the 3750g stacked switch to lose power randomly? It seems that the switch would without any reason display a Power detect loss in the log of the switch and cause the port(random port) to have an up/down status causing the ip phone to reset. What could most likely cause the switch to have poe problem? Thanks.

Hello,

Have you checked the cable between the phone and switch (are the wires in correct sequence on both ends?). Is there more IP phone or PoE device connected to this switch,if yes do you expereienced the same with them? Can the switch overloaded in PoE aspect ( if there are several PoE device).

I guess this is a cable problem or RJ-45 jacket...

bye
