Advice on Equipment to be use to received > 150 Vlans from SP

Hi. Currently the service provider is going to deliver more than 150 VLANs to a customer using a Metro Ethernet cloud on a Gigabit Ethernet connection. I'm trying to decide which equipment to use at the central site in order to received all those VLANS (i.e. each vlan belongs to a P2P connection) and provide routing between them.

Does a Catalyst 3750-E be sufficient for that dot1q trunk or a Cisco 3800 router is better?

Please advise.

These are very different devices that should be used for different purposes.

I wold say to go with the router if you need special routing, doing VPNs, firewall or any of the other things that only a router can do.

On the other had if it is just about terminating the circuit, any layer 3 switch will suffice.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!
