NIC Teaming & Switch Fault Tolerance

We have two switches that each have a port connected to a Intel NIC in a Switch Fault Tolerance team. If the active link fails (switch A is powered off or cable unplugged) it works great and the second NIC goes active in the team.

My question: Since the (virtual) MAC address of the "teamed" adapter shows up on both switch ports, how is data redirected when the active link fails and the standby link takes over?

The switching from active link to backup link is ususally followed by gratuitous arp. Your host should send a request for ARP and reply back to it. Everyone on the network would now know how to get to the host the new way.

Thanks.
