Instaling second WS-X6K-SUP1A-2GE

I have switch 6509 with a WS-X6K-SUP1A-2GE card,

I am going to install a WS-X6K-SUP1A-2GE second card .

The equipment at this moment is in production.

The cards have installed a WS-F6K-MSFC card .

The CATOS version is 7.6(1).

The IOS version of the msfc card is 12.0(7)XE1.

I do not know the software version, the card that

I am going to install, but believe that it is superior.

When i inserts the card, Automaticly will it

download the CATOS in engine and the IOS in

the MSFC of the second card, although the

versions in the second card are superior?.

will i need to restart the switch?. Do You Have some

documentation about this?.

Hi Friend,

I will say be very carefull installing second sup engine when you are running CATOS. No worry about MSFCs because they never synch images automatically.
