On the exam there was a single question that I have no idea where to find a way to figure this out. I have done many self study books as well as exam preps. Anyway this is the question in a nutshell
You are connected to a switch via console. You are asked to figure out the root bridge switch, which ports two particular MACs will be forwarded out.
You are only given the ip addresses of F0.1, F0.2, F0.3 which is connected to a router. The switch connected to the router is also connected to the switch you are consoled into. None of the lines to the switches are labeled, none of the 9 users macs are listed. I have had this question twice now and both times I had no idea how to figure this out. PLEASE ADVISE!! I know if it was not for this question I would be a CCNA now :-(
Next one is simple access-list. You need to allow a single IP on a subnet while blocking all others to a specific host. You also need to allow other traffice from other subnets to connect to this specific host.
My thoughts were to apply this to the outbound serial port on the router closest to the specific host. I am unsure of the access-list details necessary to pull this off tough. Maybe I am just making this harder than I need to.
