A telco is going to supply a MAN as 100Base-F. I am trying to figure out how to get that into a 6509 and 4507R with only GBIC (no SFP).Does Cisco make a 100Base-F GBIC? Can a GBIC slot even run at 100? I would like to avoid external media converters.

I''m not aware of any 100base-FX GBIC transceivers in the industry, so either you get a 100base-FX board for the switches, or add a switch with SFP ports, or use a media converter.
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Yeah, I was afraid of that. Maybe I can get the telco to supply the MAN as 100Base-TX. The demark extensions would be less than 150 feet. Thanks.

Absolutely. Worst case the media converter will be at their end and their responsibility. Thanks for the rating and good luck!
