BGP password problem

i had a BGP peer and we want to use MD5 authentication in between. I'm 100% sure we use the same password, but I keep recieving the "Invalid MD5 digest" message from the peer. Don't know what's going wrong. anybody has an idea?

Are you sure you have the same password?

I think if you even have an additional space at the end of the string it reports a mismatch

we found the problem. my bgp peer has a traffic shaper in front of his router, that device will change the tcp sequence number which leads to the failure of the authentication. he didn't mention that at the beginning. Thanks anyway

I was going to suggest to check for the password rules. For example, BGP password cannot start with a number, or have number after white space, etc.

But good find.
