It's a 6509 with sup720/pfc3b. If I try to create a second monitor session the error returned is "local span limit has been exceeded"

I thought the sup720 supported two local span sessions?

Sh monitor shows that you have already 2 span sessins running on the switch

disable any one of them and try to configure again

It looks like the wireless lan services module WLSM (what is in slot 1) creates a monitor session on it's own for some reason. I did not configure or create that one. Looks like it has something to do with multicast traffic.

This monitor session cannot be removed.
