BFD Versions

Unanswered Question
Aug 17th, 2007

As far as my understanding is concerned, Higher version for BFD is Zero. On my 7600 routers I am running BFD with echo timers of 50ms. Giving the command "show bfd neighbor detail" reveals it runs version 0 with ites neighbor (6524ME). Between my 6524ME switches it is running with the same timer of 50ms, but the BFD version is negotiated to 1000ms. Can anybody tell me, is there a possibility to change BFD version?.

Or

Version 1 BFD to support 50ms covergence?

I have this problem too.

Hello.

Higher version for BFD is 1.

http://tools.ietf.org/wg/bfd/draft-ietf-bfd-base/

Cisco supports both versions and can negotiate down to version 0 if one side is v1 and the other is v0.

Your configuration should definitely work on version 1.

Hope this helps.
