telnet_launch_helper.bat pops up everytime I try to right click and telnet. Any ideas?

It is directly in the userhome folder (no subfolder). Log does not show any error messages - mayeb you could try again and make it fail before getting the log to see if it makes any difference.

does it give any error or is the telnet window launched as expected ?

No it does not just a windows box shows up saying it cannot find the file the only option is to click ok. No telnet window opens up.

What OS is the problem seen on ? It is possible that application is not able to create the required batch file in the user home directory.

Windows XP SP2.

Where should it be posting the batch file?

In the user home dir for eg: C:\Documents and Settings\
If the operation still fails, it could be some other error - you could post the text from java console which can be opened by clicking F2 when the application window has focus.

Found it and it was a rights issue.

Is it a common scenario that users do not have write permission to the user home directory ?
