Can someone tell me what happens when you exceed the number of phone licenses in CCM 5.1.2? My License Unit Report shows I have -1 units remaining, but everything is registered and working....

Normally you can't add a device anymore.

Hi Chris,
Just to add a note to JP's good info. When DLU's are completely exausted things will run just fine but you will not be able to add any "new" devices. One thing to keep in mind is that most systems have a slight License overdraft (so you may have some grace here);
The License "Overdraft" is determined by Cisco and can be between 5 and 15%. It will show on the License File. Have a look (at this line in the file);
OVERDRAFT=50 indicates (5% of 1000) allowed overdraft. Cisco determines the overdraft value.
From this example;
INCREMENT PHONE_UNIT cisco 5.0 permanent uncounted \
VENDOR_STRING=
icFileVersion> \
HOSTID=000bcd4ee59d OVERDRAFT=50 \
NOTICE="

4CAF 2930 017F D594 3E44 EBA3 04CD 01BF 38BA BF1B"
From this 5.0 doc;
Hope this helps!
