I am running into an issue with multicast and HSRP on a hybrid 6500. The 6500 has redundancy implemented and there is a primary and alternate ip address required for each interface. Unicast routing is using a both the primary and alternate ip address to get to different destinations. In some cases if there are two different ip addresses on the 6500 each will use a different IP as the next hop. I believe because of this I am getting RPF failures. I tried adding adding static mroutes but this does not seem to help. I was able to associate with the RP via autorp but when i do a ping test using the ip igmp join-group that's when i am seeing this issue.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

HTH.
Q. Can I use Hot Standby Router Protocol for Multicast?
A. Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP) is designed for host in last hop networks, in order to have a failover for Unicast routing. It is not generally recommended to use HSRP for IP multicast routing.

Can we see that portion of the config along with the output from
show ip mroute
show ip mroute count
show ip pim rp mapping
