Media Termination Point for CM 5.1

I noticed that there is a new MTP on the server. Is this different then using the routers or used for something else?

MTP has been there in CallManager for long now. These are Software Media Termination Points and not the same as the router. S/W MTP can only be used for G711 calls and do not support G.729. For more information about MTP, please check
