How do I clear the IP Counters on a 6509?

Answered Question
Aug 21st, 2007

I want to clear the counters shown when I use the command show ip counters. There is not a clear ip counters command. Clear counters does not clear these either.

Specifically, I have a LOT of "not a gateway" errors, I want to see if they are ancient or new. I also want to know what they heck that means.

I have this problem too.

I wonder if you are confusing commands. I am not familiar with show ip counter. I am familiar with show ip traffic and in that display is a counter for not a gateway. And there is a clear ip traffic command. And it does clear those counters.

Yeah, show ip traffic is what I meant.

How do I clear the info in that, so I have a zero point to start from?

I do not have a "clear ip traffic" command:

6509#clear ip traffic

% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

(Note, the ^ appears under the "r" in traffic)

Anyone know what the "not a gateway" means?

I will repost this with the correct title...
