GLC-FE-100FX SFP causing Half Duplex

We have installed a GLC-FE-100FX SFP in an 8 port 3560. It uses a Gigabit slot in the 3560. The interface G0/1 seems to run at Half Duplex with this SFP installed. Does anybody know why it would run at Half Duplex? I have tried hard-coding the other end but still the same result. There is no option to hard code the G0/1 interface for speed or duplex. Thanks.

I've not used a 3560-8PC, but on a 3560-24PS if you issue a SHOW INT CAPABILITIES MODULE 1, it shows both Gigabit SFP ports as Speed: 1000

Duplex: full

This means that you can only use a Gigabit SFP.

Try the show command I described and see if the port has a 100FX/Full capability.

If not, you'll need to use the correct SFP device.

Thanks for your response. The interface is G0/1 but it has 2 SFP slots that can be used. Here is the output for that command:

GigabitEthernet0/1

Model: WS-C3560-8PC

Type: 100BaseFX-FE SFP

Speed: 100

Duplex: half,full

Trunk encap. type: 802.1Q,ISL

Trunk mode: on,off,desirable,nonegotiate

Channel: yes

Broadcast suppression: percentage(0-100)

Flowcontrol: rx-(off,on,desired),tx-(none)

Fast Start: yes

QoS scheduling: rx-(not configurable on per port basis),tx-(4q2t)

CoS rewrite: yes

ToS rewrite: yes

UDLD: yes

Inline power: no

SPAN: source/destination

PortSecure: yes

Dot1x: yes

Multiple Media Types: rj45, sfp, auto-select

When you do show interface g0/1, is it showing 100/HALF, check both sides of the link.

Also, if you use Auto/Auto as the speed duplex config, you'll need to use it on both sides of the link, or else it will auto-negotiate to A-100 A-half when the link is connected.

It is only showing Half Duplex on the 3560 end. There is no option to set speed/duplex on this interface. The Auto option listed below is for Auto QOS. Thanks

The 2924 side shows Half Duplex, the 3560 correctly shows Full duplex. Is the fa interface set to Auto-speed Auto-duplex on the 2924? If it is, try hard coding it to 100 full.

If the problem persists I'd recommend changing the 3560 SFP and then calling TAC if it continues.

It is actually the other way around. I tried hard coding the 2924 side but that did to cure the duplex mismatch. Cannot set the Gigabit interface on the 3560. I may have to call TAC. Thanks.
