Changing management vlan on 2940 switch

I am in the process of removing the IP address's from VLAN 1 and configuring a new IP address on VLN 2 as part of a security initiative.

The network consists of a 6513 at the core and a bunch of 3560's and 2940's direclty connectd to the core switch.

All went fine on the 6513 and the 3560's, unable to reach the 2940's once the change is made.

I can only reach the 2940's from the core switch.

Any ideas.

Check the ip default-gateway command, and make sure it's correct.

Thanks, for the hint.

I was trying to do this remotely via script, and the problem is that as I make one of the two changes ( gateway or IP address ) I loose connection to the switch.

I'm going to test copying a new startup-config and then reload the switch.

Thanks.

You can do that, or do it via SNMP. Follow the guide at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk362/technologies_configuration_example09186a0080094aa6.shtml to do the copy via SNMP.
