You are using the first TTY line for your reverse telnet. My first guess is some kind of connectivity problem. Can you confirm that you are connecting that first line to the device to which you want to console? Can you specify what kind of cable connection you are using? Can you confirm that the device to which you want to console will accept a direct connection on the console port?

Hi, ocporbust

There are two async ports on 2511 router. The lower port is labeled ASYNC 1-8, and the upper port is labeled ASYNC 9-16. Could it be that you are connecting to the upper port which is line 9-16?

Hi Karim,

The configuration is fine, do you face problems when trying to connect to all the devices or just this switch.

BR,

Mohammed Mahmoud.

MO

I am not able to access all of them .. all I get is open message and its stays there.. I am going to see if I can connnect directly to each device

Karim,

If you can access them directly then it is most probably a cabling issue.

HTH,

Mohammed Mahmoud.

I am able to access all the devices but connecting directly to each one ..how it can be the octal ? I just useded last month .. may be it something else /..how I can find out ffor sure that its the cable ? .Thanks
