Is there a command to put all ports in the isolated vsan?

I am setting up 2 new 9509's

The thought is to initially put all ports in vsan 4094. Then as my Prod, Backup and SRDF vsans are created ports will be allocated to their assigned vsan

The customer has a lot of unused ports at this time so the unused ports would be left in vsan 4094

Is this common practice? Thoughts?

Regards.

Sleep well, you are following the best practice.

Do you know the command though?

G'day,

I usually make vsan 1 my isolated vsan as when someone adds a new line card all ports automatically get put into vsan 1 :)

Be real careful with this command. You enter something wrong and bang you take down your systmes.

Config -t

vsan database

vsan 4094 interface fc 1/1-48

end

copy run start

Of course, you have to enter the module and port numbers that match your setup.

Thanks nitro.

This will be done on the initial setup of the switch b4 anything is plugged in.

Regards.
