No DSP Message in show voice call status when calling to a Fax Dial Peer

Hi,

I have integrated the Castelle Fax Server with a Cisco 3845 Voice Gateway on the E1 PRI and I have also configured the E1 Port 0/3/0 as ISDN Network End and I can also see that the show isdn status command shows that the Serial 0/3/0 has Multiple_Frame_Established Status.

I have configured a Dial Peer Voice 3960 Pots that has all the extensions that will belong to the Fax Server.

When we call the fax number (Example 024183960_, the call gets connected and I can als o hear the Fax Tone.

The show voice status command shows the below:-

MOLAUH-HQ-VG2#show voice call status

CallID CID ccVdb Port DSP/Ch Called # Codec Dial-peers

0x609 1F7C 0x66912EA8 0/3/0:15.1 0/1:1 *3960 14400 0/3960

1 active call found

When I see that it has connected I get the Fax on the Fax Server.

But when I see the below, the Fax never comes to the Fax Server.

CallID CID ccVdb Port DSP/Ch Called # Codec Dial-peers

0x60E 1341 0x683C8358 0/0/0:15.26 No DSP 3969 None 100/3960

0x60F 1341 0x66912EA8 0/3/0:15.1 No DSP *3969 None 3960/100

1 active call found

I also had enabled debug ISDN Q931 on the router and observed the below:-

*Aug 27 17:47:48.700: ISDN Se0/0/0:15 **ERROR**: call_progress: DEV_CONNECTED VO

ICE ERROR: Bearer capability not available(0x3A): b channel 25 call id 0x14

*Aug 27 17:47:48.700: %ISDN-6-CONNECT: Interface Serial0/0/0:25 is now connected

to 0505212956 N/Ashow voice call status

CallID CID ccVdb Port DSP/Ch Called # Codec Dial-peers

0x60E 1341 0x683C8358 0/0/0:15.26 No DSP 3969 None 100/3960

0x60F 1341 0x66912EA8 0/3/0:15.1 No DSP *3969 None 3960/100

1 active call found

In the above show voice call status you can see that the DSP Channel is none and it displays No DSP.

I am unable to understand the behavior as to why it connects at time with proper codec and why at time it doesnt.

Any analysis in this regard is highly appreciated.

It looks to be that you maybe missing the following command under the serial port on you H323 gateway. If you could enter the below command and let me know how it fixes your proble, that would be great.

yyy(config-if)##isdn outgoing ie redirecting-number. If it not work, give me sh run and sh ver.
