i want to use my 2811 gateway as cme, i downloaded 12.4.11XJ ip voice image that supports 4.1 cme, according to cme admin guide i have to install cme-basic-xxx.tar file for cme to work, the issue is that i can't find this tar file in cco, i can only find cme-gui-xxx.tar files and a zip cme 4.1 file for 12.4.11XJ, but even this it does not have cme-basic-xxx.tar file, can any one help me in this issue?

it is not restricted with 12.4.11XJ, there are other ios images that support cme but does not have cme-basic-xx.tar file. do i miss a thing here?

please help

If you download the file cme-124-11XJ.zip with your cco aacount, you will have all the the files needed for your ios version.

This is the link to the download : http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Software/Tablebuild/doftp.pl?ftpfile=cisco/voice/ip-phone/ip-key/cme-124-11XJ.zip&app=Tablebuild&status=showC2A

This file will have the phone loads, cme gui, ringtones etc that you need to upload to the routers flash.

thanks jeroenhermans for ur response

actually i downlaoded it it is a zip file, but i wonder it does not contain the cme-basic-xxx.tar file?

second, should i just copy all files inside this zip to router flash?

another thing please, i downloaded (c2800nm-ipvoicek9-mz.124-15.T.bin) ios, and according to compatibilty matrix, this ios needs (cme-basic- tar file, i downloaded it and extracted it into the flash, but the show flash output is ((invlaid checksum)) besides each copied file like this:

flash/term06.default.loads [invalid checksum]

flash/Readme7960-40.txt [invalid checksum]

please help?

the cme-basic-xxx.tar file is the same as you downloaded but with a few less files.

What you downloaded has everything you need.

According to the cme compatibility matrix (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps4625/prod_installation_guide09186a00805acf50.html) indeed your version of IOS needs CME 4.1

The easiest to get your gui files, ringtones etc on your router's flash is to run a small tftp server. You can download one from this site : http://tftpd32.jounin.net/

untar the cme-gui- to the same dir as the tftp server and start the tftp server

from your router do copy tftp flash:

follow the instructions to enter tftp server address filename etc

When this is done, upload the phoneloads you need. for instance, for the 7940/7960, upload P00308000500.bin,P00308000500.loads,P00308000500.sb2,P00308000500.sbn to the flash.

Go to configuration mode and enter telephony-service

type web admin system name admin password yourpassword

exit telephony-service and enable your http server by doing this :

ip http server

ip http authentication local

ip http path flash:

after doing this, you should be able to connect to the cme webinterface by browsing to http://routerip/cme.html

thanks jeroen

is there any way to add these files at once? or i'm limited just to add them manually?

You can add them all at once. I believe there is a command where you can tar -zxf directly from the tftp location. Don't know the exact command anymore.
