CREATING VLANS ON 6513

Hi!

We have a 6513 switch - our problem is whenever we create any new vlan apart from default vlan1 we get an error message "error exiting config-vlan mode 29: Bad domain name length".

The switch is in transparent mode and shall remain so once it starts operation in a live environment.

Any suggestion as a remedy for this problem are appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Syed

Well, what is your VTP domain name? It's NULL by default, maybe it's a reference to that. In transparent mode, it's not important, but it could be a requirement.

Try in global mode:

"vtp domain domain1" or some other name.
