U could check the bootflash, searching for some file named crashinfo_yyyymmdd-hhmmss

"show bootflash:"

type "more bootflash:_yyyymmdd-hhmmss"

and copy it to the output interpreter in cisco support tools.

Best Regards,

Bruno Petr?nio

thanks for reply,

I have gone through ur procedure ,crashinfo file is not generated.

show slot0: ?

dir crashinfo: ?

Could u paste the show version, of the equipment ?

Bruno Petr?nio

First u point a 4506, now give me a 4507R version summary.

I dont see anything wrong on this one.

When did u experienced the reset u were talking about. This one was 13 weeks, 4 days, 2 hours, 3 minutes ago, by power on.

The configuration register was changed since last restart ??

It's not showing nothing, but we never know.. :)

With that symptom was excepting to see :

Configuration register is 0xyyyy (will be 0x2102 on next reload)

Best Regards,

There are a lot of reasons that the switch may have been restarted and not all of them are switch issues. I'd hate to rehash old questions but these are the basics that might need to be run through first:

1. Is the switch on an UPS?

2. Are both power supplies on the same circuit?

3. Is the switch in a secure room?

4. Who else has access to the switch?

Often I find that my issues are the result of either overtaxed circuits or someone kicking a power cord.

Do you have any type of system logging? The event was over 2 weeks ago so show log will most likely not show any events that happened before the restart but it might be worth a look. You also may want to see a 'show power' and make sure you aren't overtaxing the power supplies.

Hi,

we seem to have the exact same problem with our Cat 4506 right now. It reboots itself about every 17 hours. A "sh ver" shows the line "System returned to ROM by abort at PC 0x0 "

but the register is set to 2102.

Did you solve the problem last year ? If yes, can you remember how ?

Thanks a lot,

Andrea
