Monitor Vlan Bandwidth/ Usage

We use catalyst 6500's and 3500's. I am taking over control of this network and want to know if there are users that should be moved to a different vlans. I am mainly concerned with broadcast domains and overall bandwidth.

Do you have a NAM in the 6500 that you could use for monitoring traffic?

Me personally, I would install cacti (http://www.cacti.net) and then graph every single interface/port.

Then go from there.

Todd, you may also try PRTG traffic grapher,

they provide up to three free sensors in

their software whereby you can monitor real time traffic on a physical interface. For more than three interfaces then you have to purchase software.
