Hi,

A host is a client with respect to another host if it is receiving time service from that host.

A host is a peer with respect to another host if it is receiving from and providing time service to that host.

HTH,

Mohammed Mahmoud.

Additionally to other posts:

NTP CLIENT: a device with worse stratum level (further from the source than this device)

NTP PEER: a device in the same stratum level (same distance from the source as this device)
