Finally, I have all my equip.. Question though

Unanswered Question

I now have:

1x 2509-rj

2x 2950's

2x 3640's

1x 2610 FR sw

1x pix 506e

1x APC management card + power control unit ( for remote power up/down)

My question is:

Setting up for remote access will go something like this:

cable modem > VPN-to-PIX >APC mgt card (power up my equip) > 2509 (configed for reverse telnet) = access to all my equip, right?

I will be figuring all this out, just wanted to hear some ideas...

I have this problem too.

your remote access setup sounds good to me.

were you going to use your 506e to prepare for the SNPA exam? if so, i've heard (although I've never attempted, and can probably say this isn't within cisco guidelines) that you can install the 7.x code on there if you take the pdm file off. just a thought. you also wouldn't be able to get asdm on there though either.

I would like to follow the security path but not sure yet if a PIX 505e or 515 ( might get a 515 from work) would suffice for that level of study? would i absolutly need access to an ASA? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
