It depends on the Supervisor Module, let's see the model, type:

show module

and post it here.

CF-SWITCH-1#sh mod

Mod Ports Card Type Model Serial No.

----+-----+--------------------------------------+-----------------+-----------

1 2 1000BaseX (GBIC) Supervisor(active) WS-X4515 JAE0733091E

2 24 10/100/1000BaseTX (RJ45) WS-X4424-GB-RJ45 JAB073204YM

M MAC addresses Hw Fw Sw Status

--+--------------------------------+---+------------+----------------+---------

1 000e.3838.3200 to 000e.3838.3201 2.1 12.1(12r)EW 12.1(12c)EW2, EA Ok

2 000c.ce7e.a578 to 000c.ce7e.a58f 1.5 Ok

This is an L3 supervisor which meanns it can switch as well as it can route. Routing is infact enabled by default on this sup. All you need to do is create L3 interfaces / SVIs and enable routing protocols or use static routing. This sup supports BGP , OSPF , IS-IS , EIGRP , RIP and multicast routing.

tnx szahid! can you point me to a link where i can find on how to configure this switch for routing? tnx again in advance....

thanks a lot ankur....
