mds9140 port arrangement description?

dear sir,

We noticed mds9140 ports arranged in such a way that not same as normal switch.


Mds9140 example for ports arrangement are belows:-

Ports:-

1 2 3 4 9 10 11 12

5 6 7 8 25 26 27 28

Normal switching ports arrangement are :-


Ports:-

1 3 5 7 9 11 13 15

2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16


Please advise why mds9140 ports arranged in such a way , What can we do with this special ports arrangement? How to configure the special features?

Ports 1-8 are not oversubscribed and can be used for ISL links. The other ports are oversubscribed and only the first port of the quad can be used for ISL with the other 3 down. If you look at the 9140, there is a box around port 1-8 to indicate they are the non-oversubscribed ports.
