Hello pips!

I have a problem when upgrading my Cisco PIX ASDM.

I upgrade my PIX 515E to pix707.bin, GD version and its ASDM v5.0.7 (link can be found here http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/pix).

I successfully upgrade my PIX OS to v7.0.7 but when i try to upgrade its ASDM, it returned an error stating

Received 6161700 bytes

Bad magic number (0x0)

I wonder why i cant successfully install this.

Thank you in advance for the help.

The bad magic number indicates a corruption either in the flash or in the file. So, could you please install the file again, and make sure that the size of the file on CCO is the same size of the file installed on your machine. Also verify the network connectivity.

Sometimes it can happen that there might be some hidden files, or might be some memory issues. these can be fixed by formatting the flash. First of all backup your configuration, and the downgrade.cfg file, then format the flash using the ''format flash'' command. Also, make sure to use the fsck command before formatting the flash in order to make sure that the flash is not corrupted
