Hardware compression for WAN links - what do you think?

I've a task to develop topology for one central and multiple regions sites. The main task is to minimize DS0 timeslots, so I'm going to use hardware compression (taking into consideration that there would be 99% text-only not-compressed data through FTP).

I'm looking for Cisco3825 + Channelized 2xE1 NM + 2 AIM-COMPR4. But what can I use on central site? There is no HW compression modules for 7200 or even 7600 routers, so what output can I expect on that series in software/CPU? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks :-)

You might be able to use the same routers on the central site as well. It will take more rackspace but having all hardware identical has it's advantages:

-No single point of failure

-Identical configs on both sides

-Less spare parts needed

Leo

It's my backup - to use 3845 in the center. But I have some reasons to develop topology with one powerfull device in center.

Thanks :-)
