Hi all.

I'm deploying a new NW and was planing to use R-PVST for my loop avoidence.

If i deploy this, and say, someone from the helpdesk plugs up another 3rd party switch that doesn't support PVST.. then loops the NW. Will i be safe?

Not likely, you will need at least two connections to create a loop. However, allowing others to attach switches to your network (without informing you) is never recommended.

To prevent and reduce this kind of risks, we have commands like bpdu guard:

Thanks Leo.

That's what i thought. Cheers.
