ATM Errors on ADSL Circuit

Not a ATM or ADSL guy so this is perplexing to me. This site seems to have problems with its ADSL circuit falling off daily. I am remote to the 1841 the ADSL WIC is on so I cannot troubleshoot when it goes down. When users at site reboot the router the circuit comes back up.

Debug atm errors shows this over and over again:

Sep 6 14:11:21.999: dslsar_ng_transmit_pak_wrapper: deq(63CEAFA0). ATM vcd=1 Transmit VCD=1

Sep 6 14:11:21.999: dslsar_ng_transmit_pak_wrapper : encap = Data

Sep 6 14:11:23.754: dslsar_ng_transmit_pak_wrapper: deq(6553278C). ATM vcd=1 Transmit VCD=1

Sep 6 14:11:25.754: dslsar_ng_transmit_pak_wrapper: deq(6488A134). ATM vcd=1 Transmit VCD=1

Sep 6 14:11:25.754: dslsar_ng_transmit_pak_wrapper : encap = Data

Sep 6 14:11:27.754: dslsar_ng_transmit_pak_wrapper: deq(65479E64). ATM vcd=1 Transmit VCD=1

Sep 6 14:11:27.754: dslsar_ng_transmit_pak_wrapper : encap = Data

Sep 6 14:11:28.966: dslsar_ng_transmit_pak_wrapper: deq(642969D8). ATM vcd=1 Transmit VCD=1

Sep 6 14:11:28.966: dslsar_ng_transmit_pak_wrapper : encap = Data

No idea if this is bad or not or even the root of my problem. An explanation would be great.

Please send output of "show dsl interface". There is new firmware that can make the line more stable, but let's see what do you have first.

See attached.

You have the default firmware. To upgrade in the attempt to make the circuit more stable you can either upgrade IOS to like 12.4(11)XJ4, or access:

ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/access/800/

and follow the instructions for FW 3.0(33) to upgrade the FW image only.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Would you say those errors are cause for concern? I checked some other routers that use the ADSL WIC and the same errors appear on all of them.

Is not even an error, just a debug message activated by that command.

What is concerning, is that the DSL looses sync and is not recovered unless you reboot.

For that I've suggested the firmware upgrade.
