Hi All,

I tried to config NTP in my CM 4.1(3) in W2k server, from the debug, seems the NTP is running, but the time of NTP server (my router) and the CM can not be the same. My router is 192.168.100.11 and my CM is 192.168.100.200. In the test I change my router's clock to Jan 2006. CM's clock is Sep 2007.And the following is the debug. Where is the problem?

Jan 1 12:48:01.279: NTP: rcv packet from 192.168.100.200 to 192.168.100.11 on F

Hi Teru,

Not sure how you configured, here's some info just to share how NTP is configured in CCM.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_configuration_example09186a008009470f.shtml

I am using the same method to configure my ccm and the NTP works fine.

I just have a the following in my CM1 ntp.conf:

Server 1.1.1.1

Server 1.1.1.2

driftfile C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\ntp.drift # path for drift file

My CCM Publisher points to the NTP servers and the CCM Subscribers point to the Pub for synchronization.

HTH,

Eugene

Hi,

I just met somebody with the same problem. I used the same way as you and the problem should be that W2k need long time to sync with NTP server. the larger time difference between W2k and NTP server, the longer time needed to sync the server with NTP server. My time difference is around 1 year, so...

I need time to try again to see the result...
