The Cat6509 runs CatOS 6.4(13) The command "sho proc cpu" shows sometimes that:
CPU utilization for five seconds: 54.32%
one minute: 32.85%
five minutes: 27.46%

Is the switch lacking of power?

No your switch is not lacking of any power. Normally, the high cpu was caused by enabling rpf on a GE interface and removing it, the procees that was high was the FIB, switch5 > (enable) sho proc cpu.

What version of SUP720 do you have? (a, b, bxl)
