CCNP track comment

Well I dont know about you guys but I think cisco with the ccnp track is always a surprise.

I just started reading the new ISCW which "brings" MPLS, and also brings a load of questions about MPLS since they dont fully explain it.

Cisco has a awesome switching/routing for CCNP but instead just go ahead and put MPLS on the track it just puts enough to get me with a bunch of questions.

Also cisco has added VPN to the plate... funny because cisco does not have a track exclusively to VPN since you can do it on concentrators, firewalls and routers and using ipsec, gre and others. VPN is a track that should be reformulated to ccsp and if wanted added to ccnp because none of the them covers vpn's in depth.

Well I guess I'll get these books to answer my questions

The Complete Cisco VPN Configuration Guide

MPLS and VPN Architectures

I have this problem too.

I passed ISCW about a month ago to complete my CCNP.

I found the exam cert guide did a pretty poor job at covering some of the MPLS questions in the exam. It was good for concepts but lacked in configuration and some of the more specifics to its operation.

I managed to still do pretty well but that was due to my real world experience.

VPN on the other hand I though they covered well.

Paul.
