dear all,

i configured two cnr for simple failover scenario.i only used CNR as DHCP server.

i follow the user guide in http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/network_registrar/6.2.1/user/guide/UG26_Fai.html

however, if the backup cnr is in empty i can synchronized the server for the first time. but after that, if i made some changes in dhcp area, and want to snychronize again, the changes that i make is not propagated to the backup server.

i tried to synchronize using web, and nrcmd, both fails.

any feedbacks are welcome,

thanks,

handoko

The 6.2 version of CNR has massive differences in the failover config. There are several more steps that need to performed before failover will be enabled.

Here are the steps:

On the failover-primary (assuming it is 6.2) you will need to create clusters, being certain to add username, password, scp port (1234), and ssh to optional. After you have 2 clusters defined, then go to dhcp -> failover, delete existing failover-pair. Hit create, give it a name, and use the drop down boxes to define which server is primary and

which is failover-backup. Hit add cluster. At this point you should be able to do a sync with failover partner. Go to dhcp -> failover -> sync. Select your mode, then hit REPORT. This should generate the list of changes. At the bottom, click on sync. At this point you need to RELOAD BOTH DHCP SERVERS.
