Configuring etherchannel guard

I'd like to configure etherchannel guard between my distributions 6500 and my access 3750G switch. I also have some old 4912G connected to those distribution.

What will happen to the channels between the 6500 and the 4912G?

Also, when migrating...if the feature is only configure on one`side of the link...how will it behave.

There's no requirement to configure etherchannel guard on both ends. In fact configuring this feature on one end is sufficient as the 6500 would put the port in error disabled state if any etherchannel misconfiguration is detected and thus the correspondig port on the 4912 will go down and wouldn't cause any STP problems.
