Have a kentrox CSU/DSU in use for video conferencing on dedicated T1. Installed fiber to move to IP video. Need to find an appliance to transcode the ISDN video equipment to IP. Suggestions?

I have this problem too.

Unfortunately we don't have any routers. they took those out when they installed our fiber network. The fiber comes in from the road into a 3550 switch that the carrier (AT&T) owns. That then connects to our 3750 switch via fiber.

The product you mention is a 2801 so don't know if the one we have would work.

If I understand the manual correctly though, all we would have to do once we purchased the router would be to configure one port to handle the ISDN traffic and the router packages the packets into IP and off it goes onto the fiber network. Yes/No?

Actually any router of those indicated in the above document would work. The feature is fairly new so it would probably need some testing before you "sell" the solution.

Thanks. We will give it a try. If I use those commands you outlined in the reference guide, in theory it should work.

Plus, if you just need to connect two PRI devices over IP in point-to-point mode, you can also try a "codec clear-channel" configuration, or circuit emulation modules, again for the ISR routers.
