IP Nat / Unwanted DNS translation

Dear All,

Please can someone let me know if there is a way to prevent the IOS from translating an address in dns response, despite there being a relevant nat entry.

R6(config)#ip nat inside source static 1.1.1.1 2.2.2.2 ?

extendable Extend this translation when used

no-alias Do not create an alias for the global address

no-payload No translation of embedded address/port in the payload

redundancy NAT redundancy operation

route-map Specify route-map

vrf Specify vrf

I think you are speaking about "no-alias" option.

Thanks for the response,

I thought that using the no-alias option would work too, but dns replies are still being translated with this option specified.
